Magdalene and Hayden’s wedding was the perfect reminder that wind and rain don’t ruin a wedding day, sometimes they make it even more unforgettable. Their lakeside celebration had the most beautifully stormy atmosphere, with clouds rolling across the sky and the wind moving across the water. It felt dramatic in the best possible way.
Guests even took a private boat ride across the lake to reach the venue, which already made the whole experience feel like something out of a movie. Throughout the day the rain would come and go, almost as if it knew when to give us a break. At just the right moments the rain would pause, leaving behind these incredible moody skies that made for the most cinematic photos.
They leaned fully into the cozy side of the weather too. There was a warm fire going, people wrapped up with drinks and s’mores, and their love for each other kept the whole space feeling warm even with the storm around us. Later in the evening, everyone gathered to release lanterns, watching them float up into the dark sky above the lake. It was quiet, dreamy, and honestly one of the most magical moments of the day.
The tent kept everyone dry during the heavier downpour, but the second the rain let up people spilled back outside to dance and celebrate. The whole day felt atmospheric, romantic, and a little wild in the best way — proof that sometimes the weather adds exactly the kind of drama a wedding deserves.
