Getting to photograph my cousin Sophie and Noah’s engagement on a misty Portland day meant more to me than I can really put into words. I’ve known Noah for years now, watching him make a home in our (large) family. He fits here. He belongs here. And that alone says so much. It’s been such a gift watching their love grow over time. I’m so thankful my cousin has found someone who is so caring and kind, someone she loves deeply and who loves her just as deeply in return. You can see it in the way they look at each other, in the way they instinctively reach for one another. Their love feels steady and gentle, but also full of laughter and silliness. They made each other laugh the entire time, and it was so clear how safe and happy they are together. I feel so happy she found him, that he found her, and so incredibly honored that I get to be the one who captures these moments for them.
