Photographing this maternity session meant so much to me because I’ve had the chance to capture so many of my friend’s important moments over the years. Getting to document another chapter of her life, the one where she’s about to become a parent, felt really special.

We chose a waterfall for the location, which was absolutely beautiful… but also freezing. The wind and mist coming off the water made it extra chilly, and she was such a trooper through it all. We worked quickly, grabbing the shots we needed so she wouldn’t be out in the cold too long, but the dramatic weather honestly made the photos even more magical.

The fog, the rushing water, the wind catching her dress, everything came together in this powerful, moody way that felt perfect for such a big moment in her life. I’m so grateful I got to capture this season for her, and I truly can’t wait to meet the little one soon.
